Released Today

Warm Milk Press is happy to announce a new book, ZZZZZZZZZZZZ [the stars] by J. A. Tyler. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ is a collaborative project that spans 3 small presses and 1 Online journal.

Here is Tyler's description of the project:

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ is wreckage. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ takes place as five distinct works, all built around the same core story. Each narrative is that of a girl who holds the last water in the world, a herd of chaos that takes it from her, and the boy who comes to resuscitate it all. But each story takes this kernel and shreds it in a new direction, incorporates other elements, reshapes the narrative in its own image. And each press that came aboard this project, releasing this wreckage into readers’ hands, worked on the same principle of core unity with distinct press-specific alterations. All that is left is the beautiful static hum: zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Thanks to the following presses and their editors and journals, where you can gather
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ:

We Have Failed

I'm excited about this,

J.A. Tyler has a new book out. It's called, A Man of Glass & All the Ways We Have Failed (Fugue State Press). Fugue State Press has consistently inspired and impressed me over the years.

J.A. is so sure that you'll love his sophomore novel that he'll write you another book if you don't enjoy it.

In his own words, "If you don't like my book I'll write you another book on the inside of that book. Order it, read it. If you don't like it, ship it back to me and I'll write a new book for you on the inside of that book. Yes. This is how much I believe in these words."

You can order A Man of Glass & All the Ways We Have Failed by following the link below:

News

Advance praise for Flowing in the Gossamer Fold:

“In mental maps made of out of milk and hair, Ben Spivey negotiates the slick space between our dirt and air. ‘You can’t count on things to stay how you expect,’ a man’s lover tells him just after handing him a bag of her pubic hair and turning into a kind of bird. It is warning meant for him and anybody expecting any less than magic in the lean, prismatic, calming barrage of Spivey’s sentences and rooms and hours, built on the all too rare commodity of heart.”

–Blake Butler, author of EVER and Scorch Atlas

Pre-Order here.

Have you read Butler's new story at New Dead Families? You should.

Warm Milk Presses first chapbook, David Peak's "freakshit" Museum of Fucked is now sold out. We've been hard at work on our next chapbook, ZZZZZZZZZZZ [the stars] by J.A Tyler (in collaboration with Greying Ghost, New Lights Press, The Collagist, and Pangur Ban Party) for May 2011.

Spilt Milk will be back soon. We're probably going print. Stay tuned. Submissions will probably open sometime this year.

Going to watch 60 writers/60 places tonight.

I watched Zach Schomburg read tonight and ended up buying both of his books. Really impressive live performance. He's doing a huge tour thing so check his blog and see if he's going to be near you.

J.A Tyler is a nice guy so checkout what he's doing with his novella THE ZOO, A GOING

This is a re-post from J.A. Tyler's blog from 7/26/09:

THE ZOO, A GOING & free free reading I have been inspired by stephen elliott, shya scanlon, & others letting folks read their full manuscripts, books, etc. for free, for the love of lit, because in the end I think we are all just looking for readers.

so in that spirit, THE ZOO, A GOING, my recently completed novel(la), will be posted at this new blog, one piece at a time, each piece up for only 24 hrs. & then deleted. just follow the blog & read one a day, like taking a vitamin. a chalky delicious fruity flavored flintstones vitamin.

I will post the entire novel(la) from a-z starting in a week or two: 76 pieces total, 76 days of reading. so spread the word, get people on board, the reading is about to begin. hope you enjoy.

Everyone in this

This morning I finished reading EVERYONE IN THIS IS EITHER DYING OR WILL DIE OR IS THINKING OF DEATH by J.A Tyler printed by Achilles Press. It's a good collection of short and flash stories. The style is cutting, unique, abstract, and poignant.
